hello, friend

Continuing on with the online card class, another aspect that was covered in day 1 was layering of die cuts. I loved seeing the recent release by Maile Belles for Papertrey Ink - Trendy Tree Tops. It is top on my wish list, however, until I get around to ordering and waiting for it to arrive on this side of the pond I thought I'd make do with my current supplies. I was very taken with one of the inspiration pictures showcased for the set and as a result made this card.

Supplies: Stamps - Papertrey Ink mat stack 4; Ink - Versacolor pinecone; Card - Stampin' Up always artichoke, lucky limeade, pear pizazz, early espresso; Paper - My Mind's Eye follow your heart be happy; Dies - Spellbinders circles, Memory Box prim poppy (for the tree trunks), Papertrey Ink heart
Here's the picture that I was inspired by.

Also I made this card with the current challenge at CAS-ual Fridays - opposites attract. I popped that little red heart on there to fit with this challenge of using colours which sit opposite each other on the colour wheel.

I'm looking forward to seeing what day 2 brings for the class :)

  16. Debby, this is fabulous!! I love how you took inspiration from Maile's set and made do with what you already have in your stash. I can only imagine how long it takes for PTI products to get to your side of the world. It seems to me you don't even need those new products . . . what you've created here is BRILLIANT!! There, I just saved you a pile of money! LOL Can I just tell you how beyond excited I am to soon be your teammate on the CAS-ual Fridays team?! Like BEYOND, beyond!! You are someone that I take inspiration from on an every day basis, so to be able to say that we are teammates just blows my mind. I so look forward to the next six months as your teammate. Is it May yet?! LOL
