proud of you

For a long time I've wanted to get my hands on Hero Arts Large Flower Background and I must say, having finally got the chance to ink it up, it didn't disappoint!

I white heat embossed onto soft stone card and then used Distress Markers to colour one of the flowers. I added a touch of perfect pearls for a little shimmer too. The flower was cut out and mounted over a panel of the background. This panel was in turn mounted over a raspberry ripple card base stamped with Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain in Versamark.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. We have had the best news. My sister's operation went well. The hospital has an 'enhanced recovery' policy which means that the patients are got up the day after surgery and encouraged to move about with the aim of getting them home as soon as possible. The theory being that people recover better in their own homes. My sister has recovered so well that despite a 15 inch scar and 48 staples she is home after only 6 days in hospital! There's a long road ahead but stage 1 is complete :)

Supplies: Stamps - Hero Arts large flower background CG403, designer woodgrain C5208, Papertrey Ink tiny tags; Inks - Versamark, Versafine smoky gray; Distress Markers; Card - Stampin' Up naturals white, raspberry ripple, Papertrey Ink soft stone; Paper - Lily Bee Design persnicket; Dies - Spellbinders small circles; Hero Arts white embossing powder; Papertrey Ink twine; Perfect Pearls

  6. Stunning... I tried my hand at your technique with the new HA tweed background, not sure how you got yours to look more raised, you didn't mention embossing, but perhaps I'm just blind?
