Back again and moving on to day 2 of Online Card Classes' Clean & Simple card making 2 which is looking at one layer cards. I've got two cards up on the class and there's a little video of one of them too! This is my second ever video and I was still as nervous as ever LOL.
While working with the idea for a one layer card I came across an idea by accident. I'm not sure if the card really grabs your attention on screen but I hope a recipient would find it at least a bit different! Let me show you my card and then I will explain how it came about.
I'd coloured the cute little owl from Lawn Fawn's winter owl set and placed a talk bubble die from Simon Says Stamp into place on the card front with the idea of having the bubble die cut from the front layer with the sentiment peeking through from the inside of the card. However, when I ran my card through my die cutting machine I forgot to open the card and so the die cut through both the front and back of the card. I was about to relegate it to the bin when I thought about the fact that the owl didn't look like he was saying anything - he was speechless. And you know what that idea quite tickled me!

I thought that inside the card you could write why you are speechless, for example, 'my love for you leaves me speechless'. Maybe it's my desire not to throw anything away with a critter as cute as this owl on it but the idea made me smile and so I thought I'd share it here :)
Supplies: Stamps - Lawn Fawn winter owl, Clearly Besotted Stamps paired up; Inks - Memento tuxedo black, Distress Ink gathered twigs; Die - Simon Says Stamp talk bubbles s144; Ranger enamel accents; Ranger glossy accents; Copics 0, E11, E53, E57, D59, R24, R29, R39, YR15, YR16, BG000
