You know what Fridays mean right? Yep it's CAS-ual Fridays time! This week we are challenging you to use two circles in your card (a circle shaped card can act as one circle). Spinning us round and round with this theme is our sponsor The Twinery who are giving away a twine sample pack :)

OK, I have to admit that when I read this challenge I didn't click to the ONLY two circles bit! So here's my card.

I guess the circle die cut counts as one and the button as the second. We'll just ignore the stamped starbursts as by name they are obviously star shaped not at all reminiscent of circles LOL!

Why not check out the rest of the team and see if they were any better at reading instructions than me!

case study challenge 97

Wow, this is our last week at CASE study with our muse for June, Joy Taylor. I must say this each month but boy the time has flown by! So before we flip the page on the calendar, we are leaving June with a bang with this stunner from Joy.

I love this card; the mixture of pink and red and newsprint is just fabulous! This was my take:

Yep, I squeezed the pop of red in there against the newsprint and also kept the rounded corners too.

You will be in for a treat if you can find the time to check by these fabulous ladies too :)
Supplies: Stamps - Stampin' Up young vermillion, Papertrey Ink heart-2-heart #3, Hero Arts newspaper background; Inks - Versafine onyx black, Versacolor scarlet;

Last month at There She Goes, we released the CUTEST set by Torico, Cute as a Button.

This month, we have it’s PERFECT companion - Stitched With Love! Full of additional images and sentiments, whether used separately, or together, no matter what you create, Stitched With Love will be PERFECT.

Stitched With Love is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 24 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

The set came to me at the perfect time as I had to make my daughter a little drawstring pouch to take away with her camping. My sewing machine has a good layer of dust on it these days but I got it out of its slumber and set to work using a natural fabric with a strip of gingham to set it off. Then I got out my stamps and inks and made a tag to attach to my little creation.

Then because I liked it so much I made a couple more to keep for the next time my sewing machine sees action!

Would you like to win the new Stitched With Love stamp set? Here is what you need to do - visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. there she goes sneak peek day 1

Wohooo! It's time to kick off another There She Goes release and we are starting with a stunner!

Sniff…Sniff…..Can you smell what Melyssa has created for us this month?? It is SCENT-SATIONAL!!! Full of super cute sayings, and the most adorable skunks EVER, well, there really isn’t anything stinky about this set! Adorable AND punny…just how we like it!!

Scent-sational is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 23 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

Punny is right and I just couldn't resist this sentiment paired with this slightly sassy skunk!

It's not showing up very well but the die cut label is stamped in a light pink woodgrain. I got the idea for the colour scheme from Embellish's latest challenge. When I first saw these colours together I wasn't sure of them but actually I really like the combo now :)

Yey, it's Friday and an extra big cheer from me as the children break up from school today - let the summer begin! And if the British weather feels like complying then that would be a bonus LOL.

This week at CAS-ual Fridays we are asking you to get pretty in pink! Tomorrow is National Pink Day so lets see you get those girly hues out :) And just look at that pink ribbon decorating our sponsors logo - non other than the Ribbon Carousel with a prize of a $20 gift certificate to this weeks winner.

For my card I inked up Hero Arts delicate blossoms; you just can't beat pink flowers in my opinion :)

There are so many interpretations for this weeks theme - flowers, dresses, baby girls ...... I can't wait to see what you make. Oh and of course there are these fab girls to catch up with too :)

for your inspiration 32

This is my second post today; please scroll down for my CASE study card :)

So it is time for our second challenge of June at For Your Inspiration and it is this icy beauty:

I didn't use a winter theme with this one but instead concentrated on the colours and structure of the bridge. When looking at the bridge with it's watery reflection I saw this Waltzingmouse label stamp with a central circle!

The label is clear embossed on Sahara Sand cardstock with a white die cut circle for the centre. Then I embellished the label with some die cut white branches.

I hope you can find the time to join us. Here’s the rest of the team for more inspiration:

Supplies: Stamps - Waltzingmouse Stamps vintage labels 18, Papertrey Ink through the trees; Ink - Versamark, Hero Arts Shadow Ink wet cement; Card - Stampin' Up sahara sand; Die - Sizzix flowers, branches and leaves set

It's Friday folks and that means only 1 more week of school before we break up for the summer! Can. Not. Wait! Fridays also mean it's time for a new challenge from CAS-ual Fridays and this week we have a theme of "Clear as Day" - get out your vellum and acetate stash and lets see what you can do!

This week we are sponsored by the sweetest lady - Karolyn Loncon who I might is giving away 6 yes SIX
stamp sets that she designed for Paper Smooches. Here's the sets she designed:

Dapper
Debonair
Geo-Graphic
Hip to be Square
Houndstooth
Potpourri

Now it just so happens I have the Geo-graphic set so wanted to include that on my card today. I paired it with my favourite turtle from Party Posse and a sentiment from Sentiment Sampler. Here's my card.

Now I'm not totally sure if you can see or not, but the card base is made from acetate - this is the first clear card I've ever made! I added the Geo-graphic border on front of the acetate with the turtle on that flap too. The patterned paper is adhered to the inside of the back of the clear card. I hope that makes sense!

Check out the rest of the girls to see how they incorporated vellum and acetate into their designs:

case study challenge 95

Yey, it's CASE Study time! We continue on this week with another beauty from our muse this month, Joy. Take a little look:

There is so much to love about this card! The peach flower, teal card peeking through that gorgeous die cut border, funky font set to the top right ...... Here's my take.

Not having a gorgeous die cut for my border like Joy has I resorted to a stamped panel then added my peach flower highlighted with glitter. For the leaves I took the colour more from the card base and then finally set my sentiment top right. I chose a sentiment with slightly different fonts to reflect Joy's card. In fact I think you can see I pretty much kept to Joy's card except with my own supplies :)

Here's the rest of the crew for more inspiration:

Supplies: Stamps - Hero Arts zig zag, lotus leaves, you are the best; Inks - Versafine onyx black, Versacolor sky gray, tropical green, Color Box sweet melon; Button - Papertrey Ink spring mix; Twine - The Twinery cantaloupe; Stickles glitter glue - star dust

tsg - envelope tutorial

I'm over at the There She Goes blog today and thought I'd share here too :)

We spend a lot of time and effort on our card fronts, some of us even spend a chunk of time and love on the insides of our cards but what about those first impressions - the envelope? We may not always like it, but we all know that first impressions count!

So to start off wtih today I'm going to look at making a custom envelope. I don't think I'm the only one that gets carried away in the card making process and ends up with die cuts hanging over the edge of the card making the card too big for a standard envelope! There are lots of tutorials out there but I'm just going to put into pictures the way that I do it. This method allows me to make envelopes to any size. Then to finish I'm going to take a quick look at spending just a few minutes to dress up the finished envie.

I chose to work with this card using the Oh Snap! stamp set.

When I made this card I used a die cut which overhang the right side of the card making it too big for my envelope. I chose to use grey bazzill card for the envelope for two reasons - the 12 x12 size gives me that bit of extra length for my envelope and the grey colour makes the score marks I make show up better for these photos.

Using the full 12 inch length of the cardstock, cut a width 4cm wider than your card.

Score the full length of the cardstock on each side leaving just a little larger space in the centre than your card width.

Score across your cardstock above and below your card leaving a small space either side. The top section becomes the flap, the middle section becomes the front of the envelope and the lower portion becomes the back of the envelope. You will see in a minute!

Cut away the four long thin rectangles from the corners of the cardstock.

Round all the corners apart from the bottom two. You will need to fold the top flap and bottom section to get access to the corners on the thin side pieces.

Cut a piece of patterned paper as a decorative liner and add to the inside of the envelope only glueing to the envelope flap. This allows for the liner to shift up and down slightly as the flap is opened and closed and stops bunching of the cardstock.

Check that your card snuggles nicely in the well of the envelope.

Add scortape to the inside two sides of the bottom section.

Fold in the two thin side flaps and remove the liner from the scortape. Fold up the bottom section so it sticks to the two flaps. Voilà you have an envelope!

You can add a piece of scortape to the flap to seal the envelope or as I did here wrap a bit of twine around to keep the envelope closed. It looks cute and means the envelope can be used again. I also added another image from the Oh Snap! stamp set as a label on which to write the recipients name.

And here's the two together.

I hope you find this tutorial useful. I will be back on Friday with another post for There She Goes - Anything But A Card Friday (ABC Friday) :)
