cas-ual fridays 87 and a farewell

It's time for another challenge at CAS-ual Fridays and this week we want you to 'make your mark' by using markers on your card or project! Our sponsor this week is Crafters Companion and they are offering a great Spectrum Noir prize :)

Lets look at my project first:

I white heat embossed my favourite flower from the Truth Is set and coloured with my markers before collaging a collection of dies with a partially stamped sentiment from the Casual Elegance set. The panel was mounted over patterned paper.

Now onto my news. It is with a heavy heart that I have made the decision to step down from a couple of my Design Teams and so this will be my last CAS-ual Fridays Post :) A combination of new opportunities and my need to be with family at the moment has dictated that I had to come to the hard decision to step down. My card today is for Michele and the CAS-ual Fridays team. Michele, thank you for the opportunity to be on your design team during the exciting release of your new company and to the wonderful team of girls who have inspired me week on week - you are terrific :)

cas-ual fridays challenge 86

This is my second post today; please scroll down for my There She Goes Again post :)

At CAS-ual Fridays this week the challenge is 'long and short' - make a card or project with one long side and one short side (3 x 6, 4 x 8 etc). Our sponsor this week is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps - look out for more sneak peeks of the new sets from the Design Team :)

I chose to go tall and skinny - if only that still applied to me! I stamped the leaf image from the new Casual Elegance set as tendrils coming down from the top of a panel and coloured with markers.

I added a piece of patterned paper to the panel base and a tiny strip of matching paper at the join. The panel was then mounted over a white card base with foam adhesive. I rounded just one bottom corner for a bit of added interest.

Well that's me for today. I'm on a train down to see my sister weather permitting. A band of snow is supposed to pass over the country during the day. Where I live in Scotland we are more used to snow and better prepared but as you go south through the UK snow causes more disruption so I hope I get there without too many delays!

Supplies: Stamps - CAS-ual Fridays Stamps casual elegance; Inks - Memento tuxedo black, Versafine onyx black; Card - Neenah solar white; Paper - My Mind's Eye on the bright side two; Copics;  Stampin' Up adhesive pearls

Have you seen the new sets that Michelle has been peeking over at CAS-ual Fridays blog? They are really awesome! Talking of which here's a peek at a great edgy set called Rad which is perfect for teens :)

The sentiment was split over two strips mounted on foam adhesive. Don't you just love the little arrow head image drawing attention to that fab font?

Stop by the blog to see more Rad projects from today and then there's the two sets already previewed; Loving Thoughts and Casual Elegance. Have a great day :)

cas-ual fridays challenge 85

So how have you found the first full week back at school and work? Hmmm a little bit of a shock to the system? Me too! However, we are having unexpectedly mild weather at the moment and I am enjoying it while it lasts. Some of the early spring flowers have started to grow and as I write this I can see a little bird checking out the nesting box. Most confusing for early January! Anyway, on with today and it's time for the next challenge from CAS-ual Fridays.

This week the challenge is 'round of applause'; make a card or project that celebrates an accomplishment and features at least one circle. Our sponsor is non other than CAS-ual Fridays Stamps :)

If you look carefully at the DT projects you may get a sneaky peek of some new sets due out soon!

I hope you have time to join us this week. Enjoy your weekend :)

thanks

Morning! Just thought I'd pop in briefly to share a little discovery with you. When I was making my card for yesterday's CAS-ual Fridays challenge and pieced together the cat image from Simon Says Stamp's Furry Christmas, I found that the cat without it's tail and ears looked remarkably like a seal to me! So I coloured up another version and popped this little guy peaking through a hole in the ice. What do you think - could kittie pass for a seal?

Supplies: Stamps - Simon Says Stamp furry christmas, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps big thanks; Inks - Memento tuxedo black, Versafine onyx black, Paper - Echo Park winter wishes; Copics; Ranger enamel accents; Cuttlebug embossing folder; Spellbinders ovals
